Horizon Line

The horizon line is both a scientific and visual entity that provides a point of balance and structure. It has a mystique that conveys a sense that there is something beyond. At its most physical, it is a line where earth and sky meet. As an existential entity it is a place of convergence and divergence. As a series of processes it becomes the installation Horizon Line.
Horizon Line is comprised of a single row of 56 segments on the gallery walls. A combination of acid and salt water treatments gives the materials an aged and worn quality. Several torch firings and salt treatments cut an irregular abyss into an otherwise regular block line. A battle exists to destroy and control the destruction.
